Apply for a place

We accept Registration for entry into the Nursery and Pre Prep any time after birth.  Registration does not confirm a place at the school but ensures that your child’s name is added to the waiting list for a possible place.  When allocating places, priority is given to children who:

•    Children who live locally
•    Children who have siblings attending The Avenue Pre Preparatory School  & Nursery

All places are subject to availability. If a place is not available, your child’s name will automatically remain on the waiting list for a possible place at a later date.

Appointments and Offers

 

We have three main points of entry and on some occasions in year places:

Afternoon Nursery   - Morning Nursery   - Reception 

 

Nursery Places

  • Offers of places to children who are siblings attending the school are sent out at the beginning of the Autumn term in the academic year prior to possible entry.
  • Parents/guardians of Nursery aged children whose names are on the waiting list are invited to meet with the Principal or the Head prior to an offer being made.
  • An offer is made in writing by email/post when we have confirmation of places being available.   

 

Pre Prep Places (including Reception)

  • All children on the waiting list for the Reception intake are invited to attend a visit at the school in January prior to possible entry.
  • A report will be requested from your child’s current nursery/school setting.
  • An offer is made in writing by email/post when we have confirmation of places being available.   

 

In Year Place

  • Contact the school and complete an online registration form.
  • Parent/guardian invited to meet the Principal or Head Teacher.
  • A report will be requested from your child’s current school.
  • An offer is made in writing by email/post subject to a place being available.


If we are unable to offer at this stage your child’s name will automatically remain on the waiting list for a chance place in the future.

Your child’s name and personal details will remain on the waiting list until they turn 6 years old and then all records destroyed.  If you would like your child’s records and personal details deleted sooner than this, please notify us in writing.

 

Accepting a place

In order to accept a place:

  • Parents/guardians must confirm acceptance by returning a completed and signed acceptance form
  • Parents will be requested to respond within a specified time if they wish to accept the offer.
  • The deposit on acceptance of a place must be paid to secure the place.
