2 Highgate Avenue

Highgate, London N6 5RX

We are delighted that you are considering  sending your child to The Avenue Pre Preparatory School & Nursery and we aim to encourage you with your decision, and make the process as straightforward as possible.

The Avenue Pre Preparatory School and Nursery is non-selective and children may join the Pre Nursery in the term they become three years old.  Thereafter, children progress to Morning Nursery and then on to Reception followed by Years 1 and 2.  However, children may be admitted to the school in any term if spaces become available.
If you are considering sending your son or daughter to our Pre-Prep or Nursery, please come and visit.  We would be delighted to take you on a tour of the School and introduce you to our staff and children.

COVID-19   UPDATE

All tours of the school have been SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  Please follow the 'arrange a tour' button above for more Information.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON TOURS

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we currently cannot offer tours during school hours as described below but we are hopeful that things will improve and that we will be able to reintroduce them sometime in 2021. We will update the website when we reinstate them so please revisit the site again.

For prospective parents wanting to view the school, we especially apologise for any inconvenience.  You are important to us and we are working hard to find a safe way to accommodate you all, along with those on the waiting list for later intakes who haven't yet visited the school. We will update the website with any news so please revisit the site again.

Important notice to all those families of children already on our waiting list for September 2021 intake who have not had the chance to attend a tour of the school in the past. We are initially prioritising these intakes and will be sending you an invitation to  you to attend a private tour one evening this term or next. These are being hosted  in line with government guidelines and as a result, these are time consuming so please bear with us and we will be in touch with you in due course.

If you have been fortunate to attend a tour before lockdown, then there is nothing further to do at this time. However, do contact Sue at admissions@avenuepreprep.co.uk if you need further information.

We currently do not have a prospectus to share with you yet as this has been held back until completion of our nursery new build. (Autumn 2021 hopefully)

To register your child for a possible place please complete the online application and pay a £100 registration fee. Your application will be acknowledged along with confirmation of the waiting list his/her name has been placed on. You can register your child anytime after birth and, surprisingly, late registrations can sometimes find themselves securing a place since occasional places can arise even during the summer term prior to possible entry.   Please note that registration does not guarantee a place at the school for your child.

Online application

  • The earliest children can join the school is the beginning of the term they turn three.

We are very proud of each and every child’s personal achievements and successes, and many go on to selective schools in the north London area. In the last 3 years, pupils at The Avenue have had offers from the following schools: Arnold House, Belmont, Channing, Cavendish, City Girls, Dwight, Haberdashers, Hereward House, Highgate, Keble, St Anthony’s, St Christopher’s,  Northbridge House, The Hall and UCS.

We always enjoy welcoming back former pupils and families for visits to the school.
